In Traditional Scouting, a “scout group” is the product of joining together the four official age-specific sections. This approach, common around the world, has some significant benefits: Scouts, and some leaders, progress up through the sections towards adulthood together. Brothers and sisters can scout together, sometimes in the same section and other times apart as their ages change, but always within the same overall group. 18th parents are often able to swap drop-off duties with each other as they frequently have kids in the same sections.

• Otter (ages 5-7)
• Timberwolf (ages 8-10)
• Pathfinder (ages 11-17)
• Rover (ages 18+)

When we say scouting is for everybody, we mean it! We want to make scouting fun and accessible to everyone regardless of age, gender, race, nationality, religious affiliation, or previous scouting experience. Some of our guides have been scouting for decades, some started last month. Some started their scouting journey with another organization, some have been with OSG since it started over 15 years ago. We believe everyone has something to share, everyone can benefit from some time outdoors, and all of us can strive to be of service to our communities.
